A pre-primary container school is setup to support the local Aanganbadi in enrolling out of school children and preparing them for mainstream schooling. The curriculum is designed to complete 12 levels of understanding over 3 years. The levels of understanding will be based on gross and fine motor skills, social skills, basics of literacy and numeracy (oral, listening, identification and writing skills).
A primary Container School is built to provide primary level education to those children who for some reason have become out of school. Its purpose is to provide relevant, skill oriented and STEAM based formal education to out of school children at the primary level.
A container literacy homer is a library cum information center for areas where this provision has not been given by the state. Not too long back town halls and public libraries were the center of intellectual discourse. It gave an opportunity to the community to form an informed opinion. The container library will provide a platform to all and sundry to revive literary interest in the communities.
It was in mid of year 2019 that the concept of initiating Project OOSC was conceived. The thought originated from myriad sources but the root of it lies in the voice of conscience urging to give back to the society. Its foundation is laid on the hopes and the faith of those who believe that they can make a difference. Its fruit lies in fulfilling the hopes of the needful and their patient wait for their turn to arrive.
Project OOSC has started its journey towards making a difference where it matters by sowing the first seed. It is our belief that it will grow into a spreading tree whose branches will reach out to all these who seek its shade.
The first Pre Primary Container School is operational at the Kusmi Jungle site. The ground-breaking ceremony was held on the 16th of June, 2019 and the foundation stone of the first Container School was laid.
Project Out of School Children (OOSC) supports the cause being addressed by Mijwan Welfare Society and at the IBG, India Awards, hosted in London on the 29th May, 2019. It was mutually agreed that Project OOSC will work to strengthen the various social projects in Mijwan.
Towards this Project OOSC has agreed to set up two container classrooms for Kaifi Azmi School in Mijwan, Uttar Pradesh. Its objective is to fulfill the need of a ‘Resource Centre’ and a ‘Home Science Lab’ for the girl child.
Founded by Educationalist Amreesh Chandra in 2019, Project OOSC is a Container School initiative to address the out of school children population in the Commonwealth Nations with special focus in India.
